1. Tanger Outlet groundbreaking today

Tanger plans to build its third outlet in West Michigan, with the newest shopping space coming to Byron Township. 350,000 feet of shopping space will go up on 84th Street off of US-131. The groundbreaking is set for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, but many residents have mixed feelings. Some worry about the increase in traffic, but others say they are excited to shop for bargains at the outlet. 2. Teenage Best Buy employee pleads guilty to embezzlement

JoHanna Taylor, 19, has pleaded guilty to an embezzlement charge, after she was accused of deceiving the Best Buy she worked for out of thousands of dollars. Police say Taylor ordered items online, had them shipped to her home, and use work computers to change the cost to zero. Investigators said she also used other people’s computers and log in information, making the activity harder to track. She was originally charged with embezzlement of $20,000 to $50,000 but pleaded guilty to embezzlement of $1,000 to $20,000. She is scheduled to be sentenced next month. 3. Vitamins on Meijer shelves tampered with

Police in Portage say that someone has tampered with bottles of vitamins at Meijer stores. Customers found that vitamins inside the bottles were replaced with chocolate chips, walnuts, and cat food. In some cases, customers found blood thinner, ibuprofen, and heart medication. Police said the suspect is buying the bottles, replacing the contents, and returning them to the stores. 5. Greek Cultural Festival kicks off

The Grand Rapids Greek Cultural Festival lasts for three days and features food, dancing, music, and more. It is hosted by the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and is aimed at celebration Greek Orthodox culture and traditions.
