082314feelslikeWEST MICHIGAN — (August 23, 2014) After a cool and below average summer around West Michigan, the heat and humidity makes one last run as we enter into the last week of meteorological summer.

Heat and humidity will build Saturday afternoon as a ridge of high pressure develops in the Central United States and moves into the Great Lakes. The ridge will allow for dry conditions and much warmer temperatures to move in. Humidity will be on the increase throughout the weekend and when added to temperatures in the mid to upper 80’s will make for some uncomfortable conditions.

Temperatures will continue to warm by Monday as actual temperatures will warm into the upper 80’s and 90. Monday will most likely be the first and last chance for Grand Rapids to hit 90 degrees so far this summer.

The hot and humid weather sticks around through the beginning of next week before a cold front drops temperatures back to around seasonably average by the end of the week.
