LANSING, Mich. — Share your story of the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk and you could be taking in the breathtaking view from atop one of the bridge’s towers.
The Michigan Department of Transportation is running a “Tell Us Your Story” contest for the third year running, with one person chosen to win a tour of the bridge. The tour customarily includes a trip to the top of one of the bridge’s towers, which rise more than 500 feet above the water. The tour is conducted by the Mackinac Bridge Authority, which operates and maintains the bridge.
(Watch the video of when FOX 17’s traffic reporter Robb Westaby took the tour in 2013)
The contest runs August 25 through September 8.
To enter, post your favorite memory of walking the bridge and post it on Instagram or Twitter using the hash tag #MightyMacWalk14, or post memories on the MDOT Facebook page. Entries can include photos or videos.
The Mackinac Bridge Walk is held on Labor Day each year, and traditionally the presently serving governor leads the walk.
