CENTREVILLE, Mich. – Firefighter Joshua Snyder, 36, of Sturgis, is charged with criminal sexual conduct (CSC) after allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old high school student.

Snyder faces four counts of CSC: one count each of felony second and third degree, in addition to two counts of CSC high court misdemeanor fourth degree. Snyder faces up to 15 years behind bars and mandatory AIDS and STD testing for the felony counts, and two years behind bars and $500 fines for the misdemeanor counts.

According to court documents, Snyder had inappropriate relations with his daughter’s 16-year-old best friend that started in April 2014. The victim would visit the fire station at night with and without her friend, Snyder’s daughter.

According to the victim’s statement, she and Snyder first kissed on Aug. 3, 2014. Police confirmed that that date was the password to both the victim and Snyder’s cell phones.
