KENT COUNTY, Mich – Silent Observer has teamed up with the Kent Metro Cold Case Team on a campaign to solve a 2011 homicide investigation out of Cascade Township.

89-year-old Mary Morrison was found dead inside her apartment at the Sentinel Pointe Retirement Community in July 2011.  Staff members found Morrison deceased after checking on her when she didn’t show up to breakfast.  She lived at the retirement community for 12 years prior to the homicide taking place.

In August 2011, investigators revealed Morrison was strangled with an electrical cord, and also suffered a neck fracture during the deadly attack.

After several interviews with staff members and others, the case remains unsolved.

Today, Silent Observer and the Kent Metro Cold Case Team announced a new billboard campaign to generate leads in the investigation.  The billboard featuring Mary Morrison will be located on westbound I-196 approximately four-tenths of a mile east of Fuller Avenue in Grand Rapids.  The billboard will remain on display for 30 days.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is being asked to contact either Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 or the Kent Metro Cold Case Team at 616-632-6123.
