GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Six men are being charged in a murder investigation that began in Kent County in September.

Brent Luttrell, 34, died on Sept. 8 after being stabbed and shot.

According to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office, Kevin Berry, Tyler Rohn, Isaac Fezzey, and Jaman Parish are all expected to be arraigned Thursday on the murder charges.

Two others also face lesser charges related to the incident.

According to investigators, Luttrell was sleeping at his home on Pinewood Street in Spencer Township when at least four of the men broke in.

The men were wearing masks and armed with rifles, officials said.

Luttrell escaped out the back but was confronted by one of the suspects and forced into a car. His body was dumped on Lincoln Lake Avenue. He died at the hospital.

At the time of the incident, neighbors expressed their concerns about the home where Luttrell lived.

“I’m pretty sure, I mean, it’s drug activity,” Fred Rudsman, who lives nearby, said. “Nobody around here is really stupid about it–we know what’s going on.”

However, according to online police records, none of the four suspects has a history of drug charges.
