PAW PAW, Mich.- A woman was arrested early Sunday morning after being pulled over for suspected drunk driving in the Van Buren County Jail parking lot.
According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department, the traffic stop happened around 2 a.m. Sunday morning where a deputy witnessed a vehicle pull into the Van Buren County Jail’s parking lot. Deputies state that the driver of the vehicle, a 39-year-old woman from Hartford, MI, was seen backing her vehicle up in the parking lot trying to convince her boyfriend to get back in the car.
A deputy made contact with the driver who smelled heavily of intoxicants and appeared to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
After investigating, deputies determined that the woman’s breath alcohol content was twice the legal limit. The woman had just left a bar in town and thought she had pulled into a parking lot of another bar.
The 39-year-old woman was booked and lodged at the Van Buren County Jail.
