The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Tuesday that Meijer is recalling  roughly 8,600 Signature Designs Halloween-themed flashlights due to a possible overheating issue.

According to the CPSC, the flashlights could potentially overheat, melt the plastic handle and burn users.

The flashlights were sold at Meijer stores for roughly $3 in September and October of this year.  They have a label with”Signature Designs (HK) Ltd, Ningbo, China, 14-121-02, 05/2014″ printed in white letters on the side.

These flashlights came with three Halloween-themed lenses that feature a jack-o-lantern, a bat and a purple lens with the words ‘Trick or Treat.’

According to the CPSC, Meijer has received a single report of the overheating issue, but no injuries have been reported.

If you bought one of these flashlights, you are advised to remove the batteries and return it to a Meijer customer service desk for a full refund.  You can also contact Meijer Customer Service 800-927-8699 with questions about this recall.
