BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – A daycare worker in Battle Creek found a small bag of suspected marijuana in the diaper of a one-year-old girl.
The employee called Battle Creek Police Nov. 5 just after 9 a.m. from the daycare center on Arbor Street. Officers said the employee told them she was changing the baby’s diaper when she found the baggie inside of the diaper.
The employee also told officers that the child arrived with a clean diaper that morning, and believed the marijuana could have fallen into the diaper when it was changed earlier that morning.
Officers said they are trying to make contact with the baby’s mother Wednesday. At this point, police do not have any suspects.
Officers are awaiting lab test results to determine if the green leafy substance is marijuana, although they said they suspect this is marijuana.
This is a unique case, according to officers who also said they have not had issues with this daycare center.
