WEST MICHIGAN -- Dr. Bruce Langlois maintains he provides great quality care at his veterinary practice.

The state attorney general's office is attempting to take away his license.

Langlois runs the Animal Hospital of Lowell and the Spay Neuter Express. The latter is a mobile clinic that travels around the state to offer spaying and neutering at a low cost.

The state attorney general's office accuses Langlois of improper care and failing to keep adequate medical records for a minimum of seven years. However, state law says veterinarians only need to keep animal records for three years. The seven-year rule applies to human medicine.

Langlois said the AG's office is ignoring the difference.

Several people have reached out to FOX 17 alleging their pets were harmed at Langlois' clinic. Several people have also contacted FOX 17 to defend the doctor.

Langlois told FOX 17 that "people confuse complications with malpractice." He said his practice spays and neuters 18,000 dogs and cats each year and his "complication rate is much lower than most veterinarians."
