NUNICA, Mich. -- You may have to look twice, but that is indeed a cat, despite showing off tricks typically pulled off by dogs.

That's 2-year-old Matilda, or Tilly for short. She's a rescue cat from Nunica who loves to show dog lovers that cats can show off too.

Her owners say that they realized soon after adopting the feline that she was special, and now hope to convince dog lovers to have soft spot for cats.

First learning to play dead, then learning to shake and roll over, Sherry Vanderwier said that little Tilly's love for treats has motivated the young feline to perform tricks that most dogs can't do.

"I was just playing with her and she started doing the things and she likes treats, so every time I said okay let's try a new trick. So, we try a new trick and she would do it," said Vanderwier.

Vanderwier said that family and friends have even requested proof of Tilly's talents.

"Shake, good girl. Bang, good girl. Roll over, that's a good girl," Vanderwier said to Tilly.

"Most people that are dog people and not cat people is because the cat has a mind of its own; won't come when you call it, won't do tricks, won't do any of that stuff, but she is very different," said Vanderwier.

Vanderwier also said that Tilly has more tricks in the works, and is still perfecting her talent.
