DETROIT, Mich -- Tyree Jackson played on a dislocated knee, Hunter Broersma sat out with mono, and Mona Shores fell to Warren De La Salle, 44-8, in the division 2 state championship game.

The Sailors struggled most of the day to move the football with Jackson limited most on his ability to run the football.  The Pilots scored on runs by Joey Garbarino and Allen Stritzing  and kicked 3 field goals to take a 23-0 lead at the half.

After Garbarino threw a touchdown pass to Alex Spicuzzi in the 3rd quarter it was 30-0.  Shores only score came on an 8-yard pass from Jackson to Tyler Trovinger later in the 3rd quarter.

De La Salle added another run from Garbarino and a blocked punt return for a touchdown to make the final 44-8.
