GREENVILLE, Mich. -- A family friend started a 'go fund me' page for Jaimie Lindsley and her family.

They're grateful to be alive.

"December 14th, I got a call from my sister saying that our house was on fire," she recalled.

Lindsley added, "I was worried if the kids were out because I had been gone visiting my mother."

She said she had only been away for 30 minutes before rushing back home. Two of her sons helped get the rest of the kids out. The family lost a guinea pig in the fire.

Lindsley has since had a chance to go back in the home to see what she can salvage. That's very little.

"I'm grateful that I have my kids. We can replace the objects and we have with the communities help replaced a lot of things, clothing. They've given us money for Christmas," she explained.

Many gifts were also donated.

"We're gonna have an awesome Christmas," Lindsley said.

She explained, "Now we're focusing on a home to put all this stuff in."

A family friend set up a gofundme page to help with housing needs. As of now, $375 has been raised. The goal is $5,000. Click here if you're interested in helping.

"It's hard to find a house for nine people. but we're waiting patiently for something to come our way," Lindsley said.
