Vote: 2 Michigan Coast Guard units nominated for 2014 Video of the Year

CLEVELAND, Ohio — According to the Ninth Coast Guard District in Ohio, two Michigan-based Coast Guard units have been nominated for the title of 2014 U.S. Coast Guard Video of the Year, and the public is invited to help determine a winner.  Both videos are embedded below. (To vote, you will want to open the videos in YouTube and give them a ‘like’ or a ‘thumb’s up’)

One video, titled Coast Guard Ice Rescue, comes from the National Ice Rescue School at Coast Guard Station Saginaw River in Essexville.  They demonstrate the various techniques and equipment used during ice rescue operations.

The second video comes from crew members aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Bristol Bay which is ported in Detroit.  They are shown tending buoys during Operation Spring Restore.
