MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. — A 25-year-old Muskegon man is facing an open murder charge in the death of his grandfather.
According to the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office , Trent Michael Humphreys-McPherson beat Dennis McPherson to death Jan. 9 over a dispute about money.
Police found McPherson’s body at around 8 a.m. and an autopsy later showed multiple fractures to the 71-year-old’s skull, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Maat.
Humphreys-McPherson was charged Monday with lying to police, and is expected to be arraigned on the murder charge Wednesday, Maat said.
According to MLive, Humphreys-McPherson’s girlfriend, Kerri Sue Crawford, is also facing charges of being an accessory after the fact to a felony and lying to police in connection with the investigation.
