GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Shawnee Holman and Amanuel Measho both know they’re wanted men, and according to authorities are doing anything to avoid capture.
“Mr. Measho actually called one of our investigators several weeks ago and said he was going to turn himself in. Obviously that has not happened,” U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force Supervisor Steve Hetherington said.
Measho is a criminal on the run, with the audacity to call the very fugitive task force hunting him down.
“We started looking for Mr. Measho back in October,” Hetherington said.
Measho was last known to be living in Rockford with an extensive criminal history, most recently cocaine possession. He also is known as Amanuel Haile, who is wanted nationwide.
“We don’t know if he’s in (Washington) D.C. or here,” Hetherington said. “We have inquiries in with Homeland Security right now to see if there’s any immigration issues. We believe he was born in Ethiopia.”
Measho has prior charges of burglary, larceny, obstructing police and drugs.
Hetherington says most of Measho’s criminal history is here in West Michigan.
Another West Michigan criminal is Shawnee Holman.
“We believe he’s still in Grand Rapids,” Hetherington said.
Holman has served prison time for marijuana and is now on the run with a warrant for maintaining a drug house in the 800 block of Alpine Avenue Northwest in Grand Rapids.
“There was a search warrant executed at his house back in August and a warrant was issued for his arrest for maintaining a drug house,” Hetherington said.
He says it’s far better for these two men to turn themselves in, rather than be hunted down.
“It’s safer. We can do it right at the jail or go pick somebody up somewhere,” Hetherington said.
Thirty-year-old Amanuel Measho is 6-feet-1, weighs 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes and may use the name Amanuel Haile.
Thirty-one-year-old Shawnee Damon Holman is 6-feet-1, weighs 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Holman has a scar on his head and a tattoo on his right shoulder.
Both men have nationwide extradition orders with a reward for information leading to their capture.
