BERRIEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a dead body was found in a home after a fire Tuesday night.
Fire crews were called to the scene at about 10:30 p.m. and found the home fully engulfed in flames. After the fire was out, firefighters found the body inside the home.
At that point, the Michigan State Police fire marshall was called in to help with the investigation.
The name of the person found in the fire is not being released yet, and the investigation into the cause of death and origin of the fire is ongoing.
