GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–Police are searching for the driver that hit a 4-year-old boy while he was sledding, then sped off.
The family of Gabriel, 4, said his sled gained speed too fast while going down a slope in Richmond Hill Park, and veered off the hill onto Richmond St. That’s where police said a car hit the boy, then sped off.
The boy was taken to the hospital, where his family said he’s being treated for broken ribs, bruised lungs, a contusion on his spleen, and a concussion.
Police said they found the vehicle that hit the boy in Walker, but haven’t made any arrests yet. Family said the driver hasn’t been found.
The investigation is ongoing.
