GRAND RAPIDS, Mich --  THERE WAS A RECORD TURNOUT WEDNESDAY MORNING AT CELEBRATION CINEMA FOR SIGNING DAY…DUE IN LARGE PART BECAUSE DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY SIGNED IT’S VERY FIRST FOOTBALL CLASS IN SCHOOL HISTORY….MEANWHILE…WEST CATHOLIC’S *BYRCE WITHAM* SIGNED ON TO PLAY FOR *JERRY KILL* AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA…BUT THAT DIDN’T COME ALONG UNTIL RECENTLY…

Bryce Witham, Signed with Minnesota

“It was pretty stressful for me at times and I didn’t even have an offer until the season was over which doesn’t happen for everybody.  I ended up getting like 5 offers in the span of two weeks so it worked out alright for me.”

PORTAGE CENTRAL DEFENSIVE LINEMAN *HUNTER SIMINO* CHOSE THE AIR FORCE ACADEMY OVER YALE…TWO FINE ACADEMIC INSTITUIONS…AND FOR HUNTER A DAY HE HAS BEEN WAITNING FOR A LONG TIME…

Hunter Simino, Signed with Air Force

“Probably since middle school, my parents have always kind of pushed me towards the service academy, A because they always thought I could play football there and B for an education so it’s kind of a dream come true from that point being able to set that up, I’m glad that I finally got it all set in stone now.”

MONA SHORES QUARTERBACK *TYREE JACKSON* COMMITTED TO BUFFALO BEFORE THE SEASON…ALSO BEFORE THEY FIRED HEAD COACH JEFF QUINN IN OCTOBER….BUT *JACKSON* DECIDED TO STAY WITH THE BULLS AND NEW COACH *LANCE LEIPOLD*.

“Even with the new coaches, they did a great job as soon as they got hired there was a new coach there talking with me and my family coming in our house and talking with us so it just felt like a family atmosphere.”

AND THERE IS CENTRAL MICHIGAN…THE CHIPPEWAS FIND THEMSELVES WITHOUT A HEAD COACH ON SIGNING DAY…THAT IS NOT A CONCERN FOR GREEENVILLE’S  STEVE EIPPER WHO HEAD TO MT. PLEASEAN THIS SUMMER.

Steve Eipper, Signed with Central Michigan

“It hasn’t really affected me that much because most of the coaches are still there at least now they are and I am mainly going for academics so it hasn’t affected me too much but I hope they find somebody good.”

YEARS OF HARD WORK PAYING FOR SO MANY KIDS….AND NOW…THEY ARE ON TO THE NEXT STEP
