GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Jared Coreau has been named AHL Player of the Week and has set a franchise record with a shutout streak stretching more than 160 minutes of gametime -- and that still might not be enough to keep him from being demoted.

The Grand Rapids Griffins goalie is expected to be the odd man out if and when Petr Mrazek is sent back to West Michigan from the Detroit Red Wings. Coreau, 23, is 14-8-1 this season with the Griffins and the ECHL's Toledo Walleye, after getting just one win in 25 appearances with the teams last season.
