KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Shawn Jarrett was found guilty of criminal sexual conduct and home invasion charges Thursday after sexually assaulting an elderly Grandville woman last summer.
Jarrett broke into an 85-year-old woman’s home in June 2014 and raped her. The victim testified in court that Jarrett asked to use her phone and when he gave it back he pushed his way into her home and attacked her.
Jarrett is also a suspect in the homicide of Yolanda Reyes. Reyes was found dead at a Walker construction site in May, nearly a month after she went missing. He has not yet been charged in connection with that case.
