GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — A 17-year-old West Catholic High School student was charged Monday after allegedly posting online threats to fellow students.
Matthew Robert Herrington was arraigned on two counts of making a false report or threat of terrorism. He’s being charged as an adult and faces at least 20 years behind bars if convicted.
Police say Herrington admitted to posting the threats. Several students received a warning on Instagram to stay home on Monday, and others were told harm would come to them if they showed up to school.
