GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- As FOX 17 continues working to help foster youth in West Michigan find loving parents, we’re introducing you to Danny.

the 15-year-old has been in the foster system for more than two years -- separated from his siblings -- but the very independent teenager says he'll be a great addition to any family who's willing to take a chance on him.

"I don’t really care about what I need," he says. "I just care about what others need."

Selfless to a fault, Danny has experienced a lot in his life.

“A few months after my dad died -- and then all of a sudden -- after he died everything started falling apart. Mom not caring about us and stuff like that,” he says.

Since then, he’s been searching for parents who will stick by him.

“When I need somebody to talk to,” he says. “Or when I’m having a down day.”

He had a great time bowling at AMF Eastbrook Lanes - an outing Danny would love to make with a mom, dad, brothers and sisters.

“I’m not really particular,” he says. “Some people to go out and have some fun with each other and try to spend the day with each other.”

Danny says he wants parents to teach him right from wrong, but also be able build things with him and have light-hearted fun.

He loves outdoor activities, drawing and writing -- and wants to dedicate his life to giving back in the same way others have helped him.

“I want to be a DHS worker,” he says. “They’ve been there for me for all the times I needed them.”

He's not giving up hope that his forever family is out there -- as he searches for something every child deserves.

“Everybody deserves to be with a family.”
