SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. -- The future of the Waterfront Film Festival is up in the air tonight following an MLive reportthat the June festival in South Haven was cancelled.

FOX 17's Michele DeSelms spoke with founder and festival organizer Hopwood DePree, who says that comments made in an MLive story published Wednesday aren't true.

DePree says there will be a festival this year, but it's now a question of where it will be held.

Steffany Pobuda with the South Haven/Van Buren County Convention and Visitors Bureau told MLive that the 2015 festival was cancelled.  It was scheduled to run from June 11-14.

"We don't know why, " Pobuda told MLive.  "We weren't given any explanation.  Our director was told yesterday and we went ahead and let the media know today."

Lisa Shanley, the executive director the South Haven Visitors Bureau, wouldn't comment on the MLive report.
