BANGOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Six fire departments battled a major barn fire in Van Buren County on Thursday night.
It happened around 8:15 p.m. on County Road 681 north of Bangor.
South Haven Emergency Services said fire agencies from Bangor, Columbia, Hartford, Lawrence, Keeler, Watervliet and South Haven all were called out to battle the blaze.
The homeowner was alerted by a neighbor about the fire. Emergency officials said horses that were in the barn earlier were safe in a nearby corral.
No injuries were reported. Fire crews were expected to be on scene past midnight.
