BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A handful of fire departments responded to a poultry farm fire in Ionia County early Thursday morning.
The fire was reported shortly before 2:00 a.m. at a chicken barn located at 6595 South State Road in Berlin Township. Dispatchers say the barn belongs to the Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch.
At least five departments were responding to the fire. We are told that the barn did have chickens inside at the time, but none of the animals were lost.
