WALKER, Mich. — Part of the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Remembrance Road will be closed as work ramps up on April 20 on construction to build a roundabout.

The portion of M-11 on Wilson Avenue south of the intersection will remain open, and the portion of M-11 on Remembrance Road will also remain open (see map.)Wilson Avenue north of the intersection will be closed, and Remembrance Road southeast of the intersection will be closed, says the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The new roundabout is scheduled to be completed by August 8. It will be the first two-lane roundabout in MDOT’s Grand Region.

In a related development, MDOT installed a temporary traffic signal at the intersection of 3 Mile and Remembrance Road/Johnson Street. Left turns are not permitted, and traffic on 3 Mile and on Johnson Street cannot go through the intersection, only turn right.
