INKSTER, Mich. — Inkster Police Chief Vicki Yost resigned Wednesday amid an investigation into the traffic stop beating of Floyd Dent, according to FOX 2 in Detroit.

FOX 2 reports that Yost’s department has been under investigation since the January dash cam video showed Dent being punched repeatedly in the head by an officer.

On Monday, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced chargesagainst former Inkster officer William Melendez in connection with Dent’s beating.
