LONDON — On a press tour to promote the movie Avengers: The Age of Ultron, star Robert Downey Jr. walked out of an interview when the reporter asked questions about Downey’s checkered past, which included substance abuse and rehab. The moment was caught and posted by Channel 4 News.

The interviewer waffles a bit about how much time he has left and the topics he is about to bring up, Downey begins to look around and says, “Your foot’s starting to jump a little bit. You’d better get to your next question.”

Interviewer Krishnan Guru-Murthy is clearly uncomfortable bringing up Downey’s past, “the dark period you went through and taking drugs and drinking and all of that. And I just wondered whether you think you’re free of all of that or whether that’s still some—”

“What are we doing?” asks Downey.

“I’m just asking questions,” says Guru-Murthy.

“Bye,” says Downey, who gets up and leaves.

Watch the complete interview. The discomfort begins around 3:50.
