BLENDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A motorcycle rider was rushed to the hospital Thursday morning after a collision between a car and a motorcycle on 48th Avenue just south of Port Sheldon Street.

Kevin Jenkins, 57, of Hudsonville, was unconscious and not breathing when help arrived after the crash. He was later listed in critical condition at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital. The driver of the car, David Brehm , 26, of Wayland, was unhurt.

Brehm was driving northbound on 48th Avenue shortly after 6:30 a.m. He told deputies he was in the center lane waiting to turn left into a gas station when he turned after a van passed by. He told them he never saw the motorcycle.
