Grand Rapids, Mich. -- Hand Cyclists from all over came to downtown Grand Rapids Saturday to compete in the 25K hand cycling event as part of this year's Fifth Third River Bank Run.
The turn out was great bringing in atheltes from all over including Chicago, and Iowa. Mary Free Bed coordinated the event and decided to create a theme. They chose 'Rollin' on the river,' inspired by the popular Tina Turner song.
Hand cycling is a sport that requires strength, dedication, and intense training. Many of the atheltes say hand cycling is way to keep them active. Some even calling it 'the sport that helped them feel like themselves again.'
