Lost Boat Ceremony honors service men & women

MUSKEGON, Mich. --  Around 200 people came to the USS Silversides Submarine Museum Sunday afternoon to celebrate the 28th Lost Boat Ceremony.

It was a solem ceremony to remember and honor the 52 crews of the submarines that were lost during World War II.  This years event included a brand new memorial wall with the names of the submarines lost.  As attendees approached the new monument they were given a rose to place at the foot of it to pay their respects.

The veterans at the ceremony say it was a dream come true.  Members of the USS Silversides Submarine Museum want to remind the community of the importance of celebrating and honoring the lives of service men and woman who made the ultimate sacrifice.
