LOWELL, Mich. — A man is being treated for injuries after deputies say he crashed into a utility pole, knocking it down, Saturday.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single-vehicle crash just after 12:45 p.m. near the 3200 block of Lincoln Lake Road NE, just south of 4 Mile.  They say a man was traveling northbound on Lincoln Lake when he struck a utility pole with his vehicle.

The crash knocked down the utility pole, causing wires to fall onto the roadway.

Nearby roads were closed Saturday afternoon while the crash was cleaned up.

The crash knocked out power to some residents in the area.  Consumers Energy’s Outage Map showed less than 50 customers affected at 2:20 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies say the man suffered only minor injuries.  They also say that Alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
