MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. -- A woman has life-threatening injuries after she was shot in the head while driving Tuesday evening in the 2700 block of 8th Street in Muskegon Heights, according to police.
The woman was identified Wednesday morning as Peggy Sue Everett, 36, of Muskegon.
The Muskegon Heights police chief confirmed to FOX 17 that Everett was driving in her van when multiple shots were fired at the vehicle. No one else was injured.
Police said Wednesday morning Everett had been critically injured.
No arrests have been made yet.
Police blocked off areas along 7th and 8th Streets near Broadway Avenue earlier Tuesday evening after witnesses reported a shooting.
Officers on scene focused on a tan van that appeared to have a damaged windshield.
