Belding man taken to hospital by Aero Med after crash

OTISCO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — M-91 has reopened after a serious crash Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on M-91 (Storey Road) near Candlestone Golf & Resort and involved a van and a car.  According to a release, a car driven by a 31-year-old Belding man was driving southbound on M-91 when he swerved around a dead animal in the road, lost control of his vehicle and collided with a van.

The driver of the car suffered serious injuries was taken to the hospital by Aero Med, according to a release. The other driver, a 60-year-old Belding man, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, north and southbound M-91 was closed between Fisk Road and Ellis Road for a time, but has since reopened.

We have not heard any details on injuries in the crash.  We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.
