GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. Grand Rapids kids got a new splash pad Friday as an East Hills park reopened after a $380,000 renovation.
Cherry Park at 725 Cherry Street also has new benches, bike loops, a drinking fountain, new landscaping and restroom improvements.
The improvements were made thanks to a dedicated parks millage that was approved in 2013. Six more parks will be upgraded in 2016, according to Grand Rapids officials.
