CROCKERY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 25-year-old Louisiana man is facing federal child pornography charges after allegedly coercing dozens of young girls to send him explicit images.

Matthew Chaney Walker, of Baton Rouge, La., was indicted earlier this month after allegedly using social networking sites like Kik to contact the girls online, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.   He would change his name, age and gender on the site and reach out to the victims, officials said.

Ottawa County officials were alerted of Walker’s alleged illicit activity after an 11-year-old girl from Crockery Township told her parents that he contacted her and asked for pictures.

Walker will be charged with producing, receiving and possessing child porn as well as extortion after being indicted by a federal grand jury, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.  Officials say he may have victimized as many as 45 girls around the world.
