Foot chase leads to arrest; Two others still on the loose

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A foot chase by police lead to the arrest of a 24-year-old Kalamazoo man for carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest, one of three men seen fleeing after police heard gunshots.

It happened shortly after 3 a.m. in the 800 block of Simpson Street while officers were responding to an earlier call of gunshots heard in the area.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officer Kyle Vosburg heard multiple gunshots and got out of his patrol car to investigate. He saw the men running from the area and chased all three. The officer saw one of the men throw a 9 mm handgun from the waistband of his pants.

The foot chase continued into the 800 block of Woodbury Ave. where one man was eventually caught.

A loaded gun was found at the scene.

Two other suspects remain on the loose.
