BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Haley Elswick was found safe Wednesday afternoon, according to the Battle Creek Police Department.
According to a release, Elswick’s grandfather and a friend of her mother had the 5-year-old child and came forward to police Wednesday afternoon.
Police asked for the public’s help in locating Haley Tuesday. She was believed to be in the company of her mother, Cassandra Elswick. Police said there was a court order to remove Haley into temporary custody of Child Protective Services.
Cassandra Elswick was not at the residence when police went to check on Haley’s well-being Wednesday, according to a release.
