MUSKEGON, Mich. – A Muskegon County jury Thursday found Trent Michael Humphreys-McPherson guilty of murdering his grandfather with a hatchet, according to Muskegon County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Hicks’ office.
Humphreys-McPherson, 26, killed 71-year-old Dennis McPherson in his home on South Dangl Road Jan. 9. Officials with the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office say hekilled his grandfather after a dispute about money.
A Muskegon County jury found Humphreys-Mcpherson guilty of felony murder, according to Judge Hicks’ office. He will be sentenced Nov. 20.
Humphreys-McPherson represented himself in the trial after firing his public defender.
