KALAMAZOO, Mich. - A broken water main is causing headaches for some Kalamazoo homeowners.

The area affected in a portion of Westnedge Avenue between Parker Avenue and Pratt Road.

Residents lost water pressure Thursday night and the city is working on the problem, but some residents found sewage coming into their basements, causing a smelly mess.

Service Master of Kalamazoo and others were out helping residents clean up Friday, trying to salvage what they can from their basements and dry out their basements before mold starts to grow.

Some people are saying the cleanup could cost them $3,000.

The city has told residents to submit claims to them for the cost of the cleanup.
