SARANAC, Mich. — An 81-year-old man was pulled from Morrison Lake on Friday and police are now trying to figure out how he died.
Deputies with the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office said Bennie Sterken was last seen around 2 p.m. Friday when neighbors said they saw him removing his dock from the water. Not more than half an hour later, those same neighbors told police they found the man dead in the water. The removed the body from the water.
The Sheriff’s Office said it is awaiting autopsy results to determine if the man slipped and drowned or suffered a medical condition.
A news release did not mention investigators suspected foul play.
