CTA train derails in Chicago injuring one

CHICAGO (WGN) — One person was taken to the hospital following a train derailment in Chicago Saturday afternoon, according to our Chicago affiliate WGN.

The Chicago Fire Department responded to a CTA car derailment in the city’s North Side near the Granville stop at Broadway.

Passengers were evacuated from the train. Officials told WGN one person was taken to the hospital with a shoulder injury.

Power was shut off and service suspended between Howard and Bryn Mawr on the city’s Red Line following the accident.
