ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. – Could the man who has confessed to killing a young girl in 2007 also have something to do with a missing girl case from 1997?
Thursday, Daniel Furlong appeared in court and pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder for killing 11-year-old Jodi Parrack in 2007. The St. Joseph County Prosecutor tells FOX 17 investigators have asked Furlong about Brittney Beers, who was six years old when she disappeared from an apartment complex in Sturgis in September 1997.
In exchange for the guilty plea, Furlong has to submit himself to polygraph tests on other cases. Investigators say they will ask Furlong more about Beers next week. So far, Furlong has denied any involvement in the Beers case.
A sketch from 1997 appears to show some similarities to Furlong. Parrack was killed in Constantine, which is not far from Sturgis in southern Michigan.
We’ll pass along updates as they become available.
