Police: 2 killed in Holland shooting, suspect believed to be on the run

Bountavee Nerasin, the 51-year-old suspect in a double homicide in Holland, died after shooting himself Tuesday, according to Holland Police.

Nerasin, of Zeeland, was suspected of shooting and killing Mani Khounvongsa and Gilberto Andrade-Pena 300 block Stratford Way in Holland Monday night.  Read more

HOLLAND, Mich. -- Police are searching for a suspect following a fatal shooting in the 300 block Stratford Way in Holland Monday evening.

Officials with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office confirm the shooting occurred just before 6:30 p.m.

Holland Police describe the suspect as a heavy set Asian male, standing 5'4," with dark complexion and short black hair.  Authorities believe left the scene in a gold 1997 Lexus LS400 four-door with tinted windows and Michigan plate BRE2702.

Our crew on scene said a 40-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were killed. The male victim apparently tried escape through a slider door, but was gunned down, while the female victim was reportedly shot in the hallway of the apartment.

It's also being reported the Grand Rapids Community College campus along the lakeshore was on lock down following the shooting, but the students have since been cleared to leave.
