GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Police are warning residents of a scam that has targeted two elderly residents in the last four weeks.

Police say that men posing as contractors have gotten inside an elderly person's home.  One of the men distracts the homeowner while the other one steals valuables, like cash and jewelry. Two victims have been reported over the last four weeks.

Police are not releasing the addresses of the victims.  GRPD says that the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is also investigating a similar case as well.

Police warn that if you do not hire a contractor to come to your home, don't let them into your residence unless you know them. If you think you are a victim of a scam, call 911.
