KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A Kalamazoo Public Safety officer saw a man shoot at a car, chased the man down and arrested him. The dramatic scene played out around 8:15 p.m. in the area of Ada Street and Woodbury Avenue, according to a release from KPSD.

The officer was responding to a report that a larceny from a vehicle had occurred and the victim was following the suspects’ car. As KPS Officer Brian Veltman arrived, he saw a passenger from the suspects’ car, who had gotten out of the car, fire shots at the victim’s car. After a short foot chase, the 27-year-old suspect was arrested and his gun retrieved from a spot where he had tossed it.

The suspect vehicle left the scene, and KPSD investigators ask that if you know anything that you contact KPSD at 269-337-8994 or anonymously contact Silent Observer online or at 269-343-2100.
