Facebook glitch tells users they’ve been friends for 46 years

Did you wake up to notification from Facebook Thursday that you’ve been friends with someone for 46 years? Well, you’re not alone.

It appears a Facebook glitch has edited hundreds of Facebook friendship inception dates to December 31, 1969, the Daily Dot reports.

Facebook hasn’t issued a statement about issue yet, but many are taking to social media to express their confusion:

    I have been friends with some people for 46 years, and longer. That is what friendship is. Friendship is most definitely not something that is created with the click of a button, as Facebook would have you believe. Facebook is a socially destructive force, and its users are complicit in the degredation of civility in today’s society.
