ALLEGAN, Mich. — Identification of a body found by a search party, who had been looking for a missingman, will have to wait until an autopsy can be performed, police said on Saturday.
Authorities confirmed to FOX 17 a body had been found in the area of Little John Lake Saturday morning, but could not confirm who it was at the time.
Meanwhile, family and friends of Josh Thomson, who has been missing since Dec. 30, have set up a memorial page on Facebook. A Gofundme page has also been created to help support his family.
A group of people looking for Josh told FOX 17 they discovered the body while searching the area around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Department told FOX 17 earlier in the week that authorities were searching for the man who was considered to be “voluntarily missing.”
Thomson, 22, was last seen on Dec. 30 at his grandmother’s home.
