WAYLAND, Mich. — A fire tore through a popular pizza place in Wayland early Thursday morning.
It happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. at Giuseppe’s Pizza on West Superior Street. A passerby had called police to report flames inside the building, and when crews arrived at the scene, they saw flames coming from the back of the business.
Those initial crews called for assistance, with at least three total departments responding to the fire. After the flames were under control, firefighters continued putting out hot spots.
There were no injuries reported. It is not clear what caused the fire.
